Peanut Butter Fudge

Ingredients

(Tip: You'll find the full list of ingredients and measurements in the recipe card below.)

½ cup brown sugar, packed

2 cups sugar

4 tablespoons butter

½ cup milk

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup mini marshmallows

Directions

I grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

I combine the brown sugar, sugar, butter, and milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

I stir constantly until the mixture comes to a full boil.

I continue boiling for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often so the mixture does not burn.

I remove the saucepan from the heat, then immediately stir in the peanut butter and mini marshmallows.

I mix until the marshmallows melt completely and the fudge becomes smooth and creamy.

I pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

I let the fudge cool at room temperature until firm, then I cut it into squares and serve.

Variations

I like adding chopped peanuts for extra crunch. I can also swirl in melted chocolate before the fudge sets, or sprinkle a little flaky salt on top for a sweet and salty finish.

Storage/Reheating

I store peanut butter fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage, I keep it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

I do not usually reheat fudge because it is meant to be served firm. I let chilled fudge sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.

FAQs

Can I use crunchy peanut butter?

Yes, I can use crunchy peanut butter if I want extra texture in the fudge.

Why is my fudge too soft?

My fudge may be too soft if it did not boil long enough or if it was cut before fully cooling.

Can I freeze peanut butter fudge?

Yes, I can freeze it in an airtight container for up to 2 months.

Do I need a candy thermometer?

No, I do not need one for this recipe because I boil the mixture for 4 to 5 minutes.

Can I use large marshmallows instead of mini marshmallows?

Yes, I can use large marshmallows, but I like cutting them smaller so they melt faster.

Conclusion

This peanut butter fudge is a simple, creamy, and satisfying treat. I love making it for holidays, parties, or anytime I want an easy homemade candy with classic peanut butter flavor.
