Grandma’s Waffles

Golden, fluffy, and lightly sweet, Grandma’s Waffles are one of my favorite cozy breakfast recipes. I love serving them warm with syrup, fruit, butter, or a dusting of powdered sugar.

Grandma’s Waffles

Ingredients

2 cups flour

¾ cup sugar

3 eggs

⅔ cup milk

½ cup butter, melted

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla sugar or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Directions

I whisk the eggs and sugar together until light and slightly fluffy.

I add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla, then mix until combined.

In a separate bowl, I combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

I add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.

I preheat the waffle iron and grease it lightly.

I pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook for 3–5 minutes, or until golden.

I serve the waffles warm with my favorite toppings.
